Joshua Ryan - 6lb 3oz

My beautiful little bundle of joy!! Born on the 24th of May @ 2.54am weighing 6lb 3oz

So do you want to know my birth story?

I woke up randomly on the 23rd of may at 7am thinking id peed myself (tmi?! Lol) so I got out of bed and a massive gush of water come flooding out! I automatically thought that if your waters broke you'd be in pain straight away.. but no. I was wrong!

I rang my mum/boyfriend and they told me to ring the midwifery unit and ask what to do next! They told me to come in to be checked and to see if my waters had actually broke. So I went in around 12 and they hook me up to a monitor to check on the babys heartbeat and to see if I was feeling any contractions, which the monitor were picking up but I couldn't really feel much. They kept me on the monitor for around an hour, and told me I could go home, So I started getting my stuff together and the lady came back in and changed her mind, and told me to go for a walk around for an hour to see if it brought on labour quicker.

It was bloody boiling, and walking around in the heat with my bump was torture! Especially as it didnt do anything and I was still not really feeling that much pain! So I walked back to the ward place, and they agreed I could go home and they booked me in for induction for 8am the next day, and told me if anything changed to ring the delivery suite.

So I  got home and moped around with my boyfriend, and I started feeling more and more pains. but they were in my back rather than my stomach, and as the hours passed they got stronger and stronger! It got to around 9/10pm and my back was killing me so I rang up the delivery suite and they tryed to convince me to stay at home and be in my own comfort but I told them i was coming in! Lol.

So my dad gave me my boyfriend and my mum a lift in (as they were both my birthing partners!) and they stuck me in my own double room (it was huge!!) stuck me on a monitor and left me alone for an hour! they came in and checked the graph and told me i was no where near ready to give birth and I should go home, but I disagreed with them so they let me stay and ran me a bath. I went in the bath for around 10 minutes because it was bloody boiling and I couldn't take the heat for long! 

I then went back onto the bed at around half 12, and they then told me little Josh was back to back that's why I was getting so much pain in my back. They gave me pethidine but still told me I was no where near ready to give birth, so they left the room. But I kept getting this weird urge to push, and my body wouldn't stop when I tried, so I got my boyfriend to grab the midwife again I (she hated us at this point) and I was telling her how I was getting a massive urge to push, and she rolled her eyes at me but agreed to check, she then rushed out to grab another midwife pulled the curtains across and shouted to my boyfriend and mum you'd better come around the curtain if you want to watch the birth. This was around 2.15am & it felt like I was pushing for a couple of minutes but there he was born at 2.54am! He had the cord rapped tightly around his neck so they had to rush him off for oxygen but they brought him back to me 15-20 minutes later and he was perfect! 

Im so in love with him, we were let out the same day at 12 and he's put on 12 ounces already by week 2! little chubster!! 

He is super perfect and I wouldn't change him for anything!
